Greetings and welcome to my blog!
There are three things that are central to who I am: faith, hope, and love. My faith in God orients my life and directs my steps; my hope for and commitment to justice helps me to keep going when I want to stop; and that love is essential to learning, development, and growth in individuals and communities. When all is said and done, the Apostle Paul said that what remains at the end of the day is faith, hope, and love (1 Corinthians 13). In this blog, I am penning my reflections on the social issues that confront us today and which speak to me most clearly about faith, hope, and love.
I could have easily just kept a journal, but I believe there’s essential value in discussing things in the context of community – to engage others in conversation and dialogue and allow others’ ideas to challenge, shape, and even change my own. So, this blog isn’t intended to be a monologue and I am not seeking people to merely “follow” my thoughts and ideas. I want to invite you, dear reader, to join me in conversation, reflection, and planning for action.
I promise in return to be always authentic, committed, and as interested in what I’m writing about as I want you to be in reading it.
Thank you for your time and for allowing me to be a part of your life.
